FILUKO

THE PATAGONIA THAT STILL EXISTS

Explore Experiences

La Forma Filuko

Since 1850 and five generations opening trails in the same territory. No organized circuits or tourist caravans here. Just wilderness, horses, and an intimate group of maximum 5 riders per expedition. The true Patagonia, as those before us experienced it.

The Territory

We don't ride a prepared circuit. We ride through the territory where our family lives: the Lago Villarino valley, Lago Falkner, the passes toward Filo Hua Hum. Forest, river, mountain and open country we know by name.

We ride along it on the first day, through old-growth forest and stream crossings.

What the Days Are Like

There is no fixed itinerary. There is a territory and a rhythm.

On horseback

We ride through countryside paths, forests and mountains, between rivers and lakes. Each rider has a horse selected for the entire journey.

Country life

We eat together and share the campfire, the mate and the asado. On the 9-day expedition you also share some of the tasks of our field life: checking the animals, covering the territory and seeing how we work.

The territory sets the pace

Every expedition is shaped by the weather, the state of the terrain, the horses and the group. For safety or natural conditions we may change the route, the timing or the activities — the essence of the experience always stays the same.

Is This Expedition For You?

The terrain

Real Patagonian mountain: forest, rivers, lakes and country trails. It is not a prepared circuit or an arena. It is the territory where our family lives.

The group

Maximum 5 riders. That lets us adapt the pace to the people actually riding and stay close to each of them throughout the journey.

Your riding experience

Before you book we talk with you: tell us how much riding experience you have and we will tell you honestly whether this expedition is right for you, or whether it is better to start with a one-day experience.

Our Story

The World

Filuko

We are a mountain family raised between the southern wind and the scent of wet earth in the Patagonian forest. Filuko was born from the need to preserve a way of life that the modern world is forgetting: that of the gaucho who listens to what the horse feels.

That history is what holds up every expedition: the same territory, the same trails and the same horses we know by name.
